Darkest corners within a circle

Within the darkest corners of the circle
Is the endless loop of the loop
The maze of endless possibilities
Of what might have been

Within the darkest corners of the circle
Is the multiple conclusions of the end
The ‘if's and the ‘only's'
And the lonely, flickering truth

Within the darkest corners of the circle
The thorn covered tangents spiral
A fungus that reaches across space
Only to touch you again

Within the darkest corners of the circle
Amongst the corridors of regret and shame
Words scratched upon the walls
Highlight that what can't be undone

Within the darkest corners of the circle
Where sleep brings no relief
Only another dimension to the theory
Of a life unplanned

Within the darkest corners of the circle
You recall everything, every skeleton
As skin reforms, and the shape develops
You see the core of what it is…………..
To be human!
